leadership development

Our Middle and Senior Leadership courses are designed to consolidate and further develop the knowledge, experience and skills of those currently in Middle and Senior Leadership.

What do we offer?
Our programme is facilitated by experienced mentors who have trained with the National College and have a wealth of experience of leading National College Programmes.  As part of the course participants will require a mentor in their school to support their Leadership School Based Project work. 

The aims of the sessions are to:
  • support and develop the understanding of leadership skills
  • highlight the importance of research based evidence in education
  • reflect on the importance of data use for strategic planning
And culminates with a celebration and presentation to mentors.

During the programme, participants will…
  • Engage in active research
  • Identify the difference between leadership and management
  • Analyse and use performance data
  • Identify effective teaching and learning
  • Develop the necessary skills to become an effective team leader
  • Manage change and continuous improvement
  • Identify gaps in attainment and develop leadership strategies to close the gap
  • Carry out a whole school improvement project with measureable impact
  • Participate in regular reflective conversations with a mentor

£200 per delegate

Dates and times
6th October 2017, 9.30am-3.30pm and then 4 Thursday night twilight sessions 4pm-6pm throughout the year.
